This gothic-style tower is all that remains of St Alban’s church in London.

The church was:

→ destroyed during the Great Fire of London (1666)
→ rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren (1685)
→ damaged during the Blitz in the Second World War (1940)

Today, the tower stands alone amongst modern city buildings. A reminder of the City of London’s layered history.

This is the original drawing using graphite pencils and watercolour paint.
